Lytras winery is a small family business founded by two brothers and is located in the classic Athens Marathon route in Pikermi. The winery produces its wine using the principles of biodynamic agriculture where the crop, the stock, the land, the nature and the farmer function as a whole, playing a vital role in the formation of the wine’s character.
The label designs are for two of the winery’s products, a white wine (a blend of two varieties Malagouzia and Asyrtiko) and a Red (Syrah) wine. The inspiration for the labels comes from the biodynamic process which encourages timing agricultural activities such as sowing, weeding, and harvesting to utilise the influences of the moon and planets. The imagery takes elements from alchemy charts, sacred geometric patterns and astrology as representations of the sun (Malagouzia/asyrtiko) and the moon (Syrah).
